I still remember the first lesson I had. My close friends picked the same so we was all happy as we had eachother in the class. When my teacher began to go through what the course will include I found myself wierdly interested in what she was saying. Later on she mentioned the fact that we would be making short films and animations and we would be in control of using cameras and editing software. I was really excited as I had never done anything like this before.
As the class was settled and practical work started, I noticed I was suprisingly good at what I was doing. I struggled a lot in school as I have never been the most acedemic person, but through my media course I was able to express my creativity, which I thought I never had, through media. It was almost a relief for me (being good at a school subject and enjoying it) and I got better and better. I came out of the course with a Distinction, I kind of knew I would get a good grade as I worked really hard.
I also did some work for my sister at Toxteth TV which included being in plays that related to a subject given to us. Our first project was based on racial discrimination. I had so much fun doing it and got myself involved more within the process of telling the story rather than the acting side. This would give me many ideas for movies I could potentially make in future education.

After finishing school I went on to do A levels in Liverpool Community College and immediately I felt alone as I knew no one in my class. Although I did do well I decided to drop which shocked my teacher. I then decided to go for a different route which was a BTEC Business. During my time at the course I found myself enjoying certain aspects of it such as marketing and advertising and my love of the media began again. I started to look up media related courses for University and knew that is exactly what I wanted to do. Another of my main inspirations was when I watched American Beauty. I instantly fell in love with the film and wanted to know more about movie making.

I know am in a great Media course at JMU, I never thought I would get in as I only had a BTEC in Business. Now I am back doing I have realised I have a lot more ideas I would like potentially involve in my work. My first film I made was in groups, we all got on very well even though we did have a few technicall problems. Our final mark was a first, I was so proud of myself and my group members. So here is my first film I made in univeristy.
